Stock may be inspected at the show, in order to satisfy disease control measures.
1. All stock exhibited must have been bona fide property and in possession of the exhibitor for at least one calendar month previous to the show.
2. Age of stock in all cases will be calculated from January 1st of the year in which they were calved or foaled, competitors must if required satisfy judges or committee as to the age of their stock.
3. All animals must be shown in their natural state. Committee have the power to exclude any animals which has been blistered or punctured or had adhesive matter applied to them to alter appearance in milk or teats or in any other way will forfeit £5.00 to the fund of the Society. No soaping of any animal will be allowed.
4. Cattle passports must be brought with exhibitors to the show and must be presented the secretary on arrival. The show organisers will only notify ScotEID of the show movement (i.e. on and off the show field.) It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to record movements off and back onto their holdings.
5. All cattle shown must be from a BVD negative herd or be individually blood tested negative for BVD. Documentation proving this must be shown before unloading. Stewards are empowered to refer to ear numbers to check on the ScotEID database.
6. All cattle to conform to regulations approved by any Brucellosis or Tuberculosis schemes.
7. All bulls six months and above must be properly secured by rope fastened to a ring through his nose and double haltered.
8. The transport of Animals (cleansing Disinfection) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 applies to vehicles taking animals to and from the show. The show organisers must be informed of the name and address of haulier.
9. The names and addresses of all persons handling stock for the exhibitors must be recorded and retained for 3 months beyond the show date.
10. All sheep must be individually identified in accordance with current legislation. The identification numbers should be listed on the movement book. Please note this is the responsibility of the keeper to ensure the correct details are recorded and passes on to the relevant authorities.
11. All MAEDI-VISNA /CAE stock must be accompanied by a current and valid health status certificate to be shown to steward before the stock is unloaded.
12. Any person bringing forward animals from stock in which there has been any infection (SCRAPIE) within a period of three months will be liable to a penalty of £20.00.
13. All Exhibits are shown at own risk.
14. All handlers must be in control of their animals always.
15. Entry money in all classes will be £2.00 where total prize money or value of prizes is £5.00 or over, and when total prize money or value of prices is £2.00 or over the entry will be 50p
16. A parade of all prize cattle and horses will be held at conclusion of judging and no stock will be allowed to leave the field before that time unless by permission of the committee.
17. Any person infringing any of the above, or any other rules of the Society in which a special penalty is not attached, will be fined £1.00 and will forfeit the prize money in classes in which he infringed.
18. All protests must be lodged in writing with the Secretary before the date of payment of prize money, all questions and disputes of any kind shall be settled by the Committee of Management, whose decision will be final.
19. Power is reserved to the Committee of Management or someone authorised by the Committee to measure the ponies and the decision of the Committee will be final.
20. All exhibitors must be members of the Society – Yearly Membership – £2.
